White tissue packing paper braided in a 5-strand braid on a metal hoop. This is the packing paper that the moving company used on our belongings when we left Stockholm to move to the countryside. I wondered what it would be like to braid from the outside rim inward, instead of starting at the center of the spiral as you traditionally would when using this technique to build a rag rug. I had thought to name it something different entirely, but my daughter, currently in love with letters, saw it hanging in our living room and called it "Mamma, oh!" How can I argue? This is one of a series of pieces made on metal hoops salvaged from a bar cart, broken and abandoned in the woods.
